This is my second review of Het Ballonetje. My original one was posted through the Medical Marijuana delivery service I work for in California, and can be found here. A lot has changed since I wrote this review, so, in light of my visit to my favourite coffeeshop in Amsterdam, I decided to bless you all with another one. Today I took my friend Ahad, who I met through League of Legends several years ago. He told me he was coming to Amsterdam so I took him round all the best coffeeshops.
Location
Het Ballonetje is slightly further out, although it could still be considered Central Amsterdam. The nearest station is Weesperplein, you can find out where it is below:

Weed on offer
Today we bought some Raspberry Cough, Orange Diesel, and Cheesedawg. The prices are slightly higher than you can pay at some places, but are reasonable for the quality of weed. You can definitely find almost on par buds for signficantly cheaper around Amsterdam, but this is definitely one to visit if you want to smoke some seriously nice strains. They also have edibles, moonrocks, pre-rolled joints and blunts, and bongs for you to use. Consumption isn't required (you don't have to buy a drink to sit inside) but it's always nice to have a coffee, particularly from their high-quality coffee machine. The staff are friendly, and speak decent English.
Prices and types
They have some standard strains, White Balloon is pretty good for the price, and they have the standard Amnesia for those who want a significant headfuck. It's their 12-15euro a gram buds which make me keep coming back for more, however. For the price, this is pretty good buds for a good price in Amsterdam. They often have strains which are either very famous, or are offshoots of very famous strains. For example, Orange Diesel, which we rolled up today, was a great-tasting Sour Diesel strain, which tasted citrusy and added to the whole effect. Cheesedawg was a personal favourite of mine, and can be found below. This strain is a cross between the famous UK cheese (practically the only strain we're famous for by the way) and Chemdawg, which is the parent of some of the most well-known strains in the world.

Summing up
The buds are always changing, which is also nice. Although if you're living in Amsterdam this can be annoying at times, as I personally like a staple bud, you can 100% guarantee these guys will have some buds to either knock your socks off, or help you relax, depending on what you're looking for. Their strain selection can often make choice hard, because it's like being a kid in a candy store to be quite honest. If you just ask a few questions, the staff are always happy to help out. If you're looking for a budget coffeeshop this perhaps isn't the right choice for you, but if you're not completely budgeting you can expect to find a nice interior with some pretty cool wall art, and enough chairs to seat a fair amount of people. The upstairs is incredibly hot, but the downstairs is a bit better ventelated. I wouldn't recommend sitting upstairs on a hot day, to be quite honest. It probably gets a little bit sweaty up there.
